Resistance To Digital Transition In The Justice Sector: A Research Proposal

This research proposal aims to understand the factors associated with resistance to digital transition in the Portuguese justice sector. The topic is timely because the phenomenon has increased recently, especially during and after the pandemic. A four-phase approach is proposed to achieve the research objectives. The first phase aims to frame the topic appropriately through a narrative literature review. The second phase consists of a systematic literature review on resistance to digital transition. A conceptual model of factors associated with digital transition will be developed in this phase. The model will be tested in the justice sector during the third phase of the study. Finally, the study's conclusions will be drawn, particularly by validating and comparing the conceptual model with existing theory. The study is ongoing, and the first two phases have been completed. The results of these phases are presented in the paper.
