Applications and Implications In The Promotion of Tourist Destinations of Protected Natural Areas, Through Immersive Technologies - Virtual Reality

This article presents a prototype proposal that enables users to experience natural-tourist tours using Virtual Reality technology in three virtualized environments of Cotopaxi National Park. Usability was evaluated to determine the level at which users can learn and utilize the proposed system to achieve their goals or perform various recreational tasks related to the virtualized tours. After analyzing the user-registered data, the result was moderately acceptable. Furthermore, users reported experiencing the environments immersively, which allowed them to have a complete and enriching perception of the digitally recreated locations.
