Gis-Based Ahp and Borda Methods For Land Suitability Analysis For Agriculture
The purpose of this study is the use of the AHP and Borda Methods within a Group Decision Support System to identify the most suitable land units for durum wheat cultivation. By integrating evaluations from multiple decision makers, we prioritize and select the most suitable land units. Our research has uncovered that the main criteria play a pivotal role in selecting the most suitable alternatives, and our innovative approach using AHP and Borda, integrated into GIS, is at the forefront of this decision-making process. The proposed methodology has been applied to assess the suitability of 63 land units for durum wheat cultivation in the Mleta study area in Algeria. This suitability assessment is driven by the value of each criterion, allowing us to rank agricultural lands from the highest to the lowest degree. This innovative approach represents significant advancement in-group decision-making and multi-criteria decision-making processes.
