Requirements For Implementing A Transportation Management System In An Adhesives Production Unit
Logistics, despite being often associated with the modern era, has deep roots that date back to historical periods, where logistical efficiency was crucial. Nowadays, the concept has evolved significantly, assuming a strategic role in organizations and involving the integrated management of flows of goods, information, and resources from origin to consumer. With the increasing complexity of supply chains and the digitalization of processes, logistics is no longer an isolated activity and has become a competitive differentiator, essential to meet the demands of a market that values agility, precision, and personalization in service. In this scenario, technologies such as the Transportation Management System (TMS) and integrated software have radically transformed transport management, promoting automation, centralization, and optimization of operational processes. This project explores the requirements for implementing a TMS in a European production unit of a global leader in the adhesives market. The analysis details the challenges faced and discusses possible improvements to be implemented and their impacts, highlighting the role of technology in overcoming logistical barriers and improving operational efficiency.
