Barriers To Success In Industry-Academia Collaboration: The Impact of Engagement
Collaborative projects are essential for driving innovation in software engineering. However, keeping stakeholders engaged in these projects is a significant challenge. This study establishes an empirical foundation by analyzing the reasons for low engagement and identifying best practices to address this issue. We examine existing research on Industry-Academia Collaboration (IAC) in software engineering projects through a tertiary literature review. The findings enhance our understanding of engagement challenges and provide practical guidelines combining academic rigor and industry relevance. This review captures the current state of IAC and offers actionable insights to improve stakeholder commitment in future collaborative efforts.
