Artificial Intelligence: “Support Or Potential Risk” For Nursing Care Plans

Artificial intelligence (AI) is transforming healthcare and, consequently, nursing; however, the incorporation of these technologies entails significant challenges in the teaching-learning process, such as the need to train future professionals for its proper use. Therefore, the objective of this study was to interpret the aspects perceived by nursing students regarding the use of artificial intelligence in developing care plans. A qualitative study was conducted using content analysis, and two thematic categories emerged: AI as a support tool and AI as a potential risk. The students primarily perceive AI as a valuable support that can optimize care planning, provided that its use is guided by competent professionals and that the individualization of care and patient safety are maintained.
