Digital Literacy In Healthcare - A Pathway To Equitable Digital Transformation

Digital literacy is a fundamental pillar for achieving digital inclusion, particularly in healthcare services, where effective use of digital tools significantly impacts health outcomes. This study investigates how digital literacy contributes to fostering digital inclusion among Portuguese healthcare users. Based on a quantitative approach, data was collected via an online survey disseminated through social media platforms. While this method allowed broad participation, it inherently selected digitally engaged users, which is a limitation discussed. The study emphasizes descriptive analysis to highlight digital behaviors and perceptions. Findings support that digital literacy enhances users confidence and ability to use health services online, though they also reveal disparities among subgroups. Recom-mendations are presented for developing targeted educational initiatives to reduce these disparities
