Cooling By Natural Convection of Electronic Cabinets Potentially Usable In Data Centers

In the last decades, the cooling of electronic boards by natural convection has been deeply investigated. Few papers are focused on the cooling of the boards placed in a vented cavity. Even though forced convection is more effective than natural convection, the latter guaran-tees the maximum reliability of the thermal system. In this paper, a numerical analysis of the cooling of multi-column racks was carried out. All the simulations were performed using the Flotherm 11.2 software. In particular, the model considers two multi-column racks formed by a hot channel between the sides where the hot outlet vents are located
